High-Frequency Oscillation Suppression Strategy for Flexible DC Transmission Systems Based on Additional Joint Damping

Flexible DC transmission systems experience negative damping characteristics in the high-frequency range due to delay system control link. This can lead interactions between impedance of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) and AC lines, resulting oscillation (HFO) issues. To resolve this problem, a simplified MMC model was developed, taking into account current inner loop The Sobol method employed analyze factors influencing MMC. Additionally, combined approach involving virtual passive filtering an equivalent sampling proposed provide additional damping. study compared analyzed impact on stability MMCs. Lastly, flexible direct grid connection simulation constructed using PSCAD validate effectiveness strategy.
